This entry in Rhino Records' extra-value double-CD best-of series reveals the Ohio bubblegum group Tommy James & The Shondells to have been masters of many musical genres, as evidenced by the early, garage rock "Hanky Panky," the teen pop gem "I Think We're Alone Now," the bubblegum classic "Mony Mony" (only rivaled by "Louie Louie" in its incomprehensibility), the psychedelic "Crimson and Clover," and the mellifluous R&B of "Crystal Blue Persuasion."
