Though R&B crooner Dave Hollister isn't a household name, despite having sung with stars of the hip-hop firmament like Mary J. Blige and 2Pac, he's prided himself throughout his career on his espousal of down-to-earth values, studiously avoiding the booty-and-bling output of many of his peers. His social conscience and gritty realism, as well as his velvety vocals and relaxed delivery, are much in evidence on this best-of, which gathers material like the sublime, silky "My Favorite Girl" and the barbed social commentary of "Baby Mama Drama" from 1999's GHETTO HYMNS, in addition to the good times anthem, "Good Ole Ghetto," from 2003's REAL TALK.
