Title Note

Arranger: Gary Hoey.

The accompanying soundtrack to the 2006 Ben Stiller/Danny DeVito holiday film Deck the Halls includes an expected but generally good collection of classic Christmas songs (the one exception being "Brighter Lights," which is an original). The first half of the album is solely contemporary renditions of tracks like "Santa Baby" and "Joy to the World," while the second half takes a more traditional view. That being so, the soundtrack isn't a great choice for someone who only wants to hear interpretations that are close to the originals, nor for someone who only wants to hear new takes. But for the listener who likes a mixture of the two, or for the family that has varying opinions, Deck the Halls is a decent Christmas album choice. ~ Marisa Brown
