Title Note

Its title notwithstanding, the music on the second album from Cincinnati metalcore band Beneath the Sky is alive with writhing intensity and dark introspection. Not satisfied with being just another metalcore act, they've topped themselves with increasingly sophisticated songwriting on THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED. Twisting power metal-style leads and a furious swarm of angry hornet guitars mark "It All Ends With a Smile," before surprisingly melodic vocals break up the clouds during the chorus. Another highlight, "Belle of the Ball," is a show-stopping epic that acts as the album's centerpiece.
