The Celtic sound has become such a franchise among purveyors of spiritual music that even Norwegians are doing it--and quite well at that. Composer Rolf Lovland and his partner, Irish violinist Fionuala Sherry, employ whistles and pipes, orchestral backing, and pianos in lush arrangements. The duo strays from the strictly instrumental approach of their previous two albums by including vocals by a series of ethereal singers. The reverential lyrics, upbeat musical themes, and overall opulence of the recording recall the best elements of Enya.
