It's no accident that Los Angeles trad-punks Time Again are on Tim Armstrong's Hellcat label. With Armstrong's bands Operation Ivy and Rancid as immediate bullet points for their sound, Time Again come off not so much as ripping those bands off as furthering their work. The familiar mix of squatter grit and pop exuberance that marked so many Bay Area acts at the start of the 1990s also accurately describes Time Again. Garbage-flecked buzzsaw anthems such as "Day Like This," and "Montreal (Street Kids)" ride a rhythm track of popping bass all the way to fist-pumping, raw-throated choruses.
