This is a 2009 reissue of an album originally self-released by Northern California songstress Emily Jane White in 2008. A bluesy, spooky, death-obsessed blend of Joanna Newsom and Cat Power, White writes dark murder ballads and sinister character studies, which she plays on fragile acoustic guitar and sings in a wispy, quiet voice. This reissue adds a new song, "Robotic Arms."
