A welcome antidote to bleak, humorless hip-hop, 2007's DA BAYDESTRIAN finds Oakland, California-based rapper Mistah F.A.B. (born Stanley P. Cox) presenting a fun-loving collection of inventive samples, rhymes, and beats, as best embodied by the wacky title tune. Though F.A.B. is capable of tackling more serious songs (see the thoughtful "Life on Track"), he's at his finest while cutting loose on carefree party anthems, a point hit home by the fast-flowing "Furley Ghost."
