Decyfer Down Artist Snapshot:

The North Carolina-based Christian rock act Decyfer Down debuted its heavy post-grunge sound on 2006's END OF GREY, which was warmly embraced by metal-loving CCM fans. The group's sophomore outing was delayed by the departure of vocalist Caleb Oliver, but got back on track when Decyfer Down recruited T.J. Harris (formerly of Fighting Instinct) as their new singer. Harris's first album with the band, CRASH, was issued in the spring of '09, just in time for them to tour with kindred spirits Disciple and Skillet.

One of the premier Christian rock bands of the late '00s, Decyfer Down hone their post-grunge sound even further on the 2009 Billboard charting debut CRASH. While Decyfer Down are serious about their faith, songs such as "Fading" hit all of the key secular rock touchstones--from crunchy guitars and booming drum work to lead singer TJ Harris's earnest Vedder-inspired vocals--and concern the faith and perseverance needed to simply get through life. Indeed, this is an idea most can appreciate regardless of religious affiliation.
