The winner of Best Foreign Film at the 2008 Academy Awards, THE COUNTERFEITERS features a soundtrack that evokes both its World War II era and its inherent drama. Hugo Diaz's bright, guitar-driven tracks accompany the movie's lighter passages (see the deft, delicate "Mano a Mano"), while Marius Ruhland's orchestral pieces (the foreboding "Nazi Intelligence") home in on its tenser moments.
