Review

Alternative Press (p.156) - "The Briggs bring street punk with panache on their latest album....Laced with sincere lyrics that oscillate between socio-political and more introspective fare..."

Title Note

The fourth album from hardscrabble L.A. punks the Briggs is a nonstop charge of soaring, gritty street anthems. Working in the time-tested mode of English Oi! pioneers such as Angelic Upstarts, this band is able to craft huge sing-along choruses and rushes of soaring, rough melody. The songs are also salted with simpatico guests, such as Ken Casey of Dropkick Murphys and Brian Baker of Minor Threat and Bad Religion. "This Is L.A." is an affectionate tribute to the sunny dystopia they call home, while "Mad Men" hoists a pint like they're still across the pond, and "Molly" staggers gracefully through all broken neighborhoods.
