Album Description

The songs on this collection were recorded by John Denver between 1988 and 1994, well into his self-imposed recording hiatus. His voice is still strong, and the record is sprinkled with hits and memorable melodies from throughout Denver's career, including the smashes "Take Me Home, Country Roads," "Rocky Mountain High," "Sunshine on My Shoulders," and the latter day jaunt "Earth Day Everyday (Celebrate)." Some of the arrangements are lacking, however, with synthesizers creeping into the production here and there. While it isn't a bad collection for the casual Denver fan, his RCA-issued albums and greatest-hits contain the original versions of these songs, which are still the most resonant. ~ Johnny Loftus
