Though he doesn't possess his father's charismatic delivery (his relaxed, chatty vocal style has a little more in common with R&B raconteurs like Gil Scott Heron), John Lee Hooker, Jr.'s set of jazzy, urban blues carries strong overtones of Hooker senior's signature acute observation and wit.
