Like most late '80s power metal, Wrathchild America's Climbin' the Walls is full of speedy, muscular riffs, complex time changes, and superb drumming -- especially on the title track and "Silent Darkness." Unfortunately, other songs like "London after Midnight" and "Hell's Gates" are buried in cheesy demonic lyrics, lacking in actual hooks, and loaded with clich‚s, the most irritating of which has to be the pure filler of instrumental track "Hernia." The album's only truly surprising moment arrives with a faithful, but unspectacular cover of Pink Floyd's "Time." ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
