Title Note

One could be forgiven for not knowing that Washington D.C.'s Wicked Witch was the nom-de-band of Richard Simms, the man in form-fitting motorcycle leather (or S&M gear) on the cover; it's a safe bet based on the cut-and-paste quality of the cover art, and, indeed, of the recordings, that Wicked Witch was a strictly local phenomenom. The freak-out lo-fi post-punk disco funk collected on CHAOS 1978-1986, exemplified by "Erratic Behavior," which approximates Halloween music at a seedy urban dance club circa 1979, isn't for everyone, but those who thrill in the discovery of warped musical vision may well be intrigued.
