An intelligent being from another planet in the form of a cat named Jake (voiced by Ronnie Schell) visits earth and enlists the aid of U.S. scientists to help rebuild his spaceship. Jake happens to be able to predict sporting event results and attracts some military types who think they are seeking a spaceman, not a spacecat.
