Title Note

Poison Arrows: Justin Sinkovich (vocals, guitar, keyboard); Patrick Morris (vocals, bass guitar); Adam Reach (drum, percussion).

The brainchild of guitarist Justin Sinkovich, the Poison Arrows is a post-rock outfit that occasionally recalls the late-1980s heyday of moody, angular, guitar-fueled indie rock (think Slint and Sonic Youth). The four tracks on 2008's CASUAL WAVE are generally downtempo and atmospheric, full of sustained twangy guitar and pulsing rhythms. The Poison Arrows don't revel in gentle ambience, however; these songs brim with challenging instrumental interplay and intricate math-rock patterns. Fans of the old school avant-rock underground will find much to appreciate here.
