CANTOS DE AMOR contains one previously unreleased song, "Gitano Soy."

This 1998 collection presents the most romantic songs of the Gipsy Kings, culling love-themed tracks from the French flamenco group's 1980s and '90s albums. While the ensemble is renowned for its lively Latin aesthetic (e.g. the energetic hit "Bamboleo"), it is also capable of delicate ballads and mellow mood pieces, as revealed on songs such as the shuffling "Un Amor," the breezy "A Mi Manera," and the gentle "Caminado Por La Calle," all of which feature the Kings' acoustic guitar-laden sound and the bold, plaintive vocals of frontman Nicholas Reyes. In addition to the aforementioned tunes, CANTOS DE AMOR also includes the previously unreleased "Gitano Soy," a lovely track that holds its own with the compilation's older songs. Though this disc is not recommended for those seeking the highly rhythmic dance-oriented side of the band, it's a perfect set of intimate music for a quiet evening.
