Review

Down Beat (p.73) - "[Benoit] plays absolutely wonderful guitar on the redemptive slow blues 'Somehow'."
JazzTimes (p.90) - "Benoit plays with soulful restraint on the bluesy meditation 'Somehow,' then cranks up the funk factor..."
Living Blues (p.66) - "Benoit once again proves to be a powerful voice in contemporary roots music."

Title Note

Personnel: Tab Benoit (vocals, guitar); Jim Lauderdale, Billy Joe Shaver (vocals); Waylon Thibodeaux (fiddle); Louisiana's Leroux.

The Louisiana musician sings and solos his way through a set that soaks rootsy funk, blues, rockabilly, and country in the stylistically rich mud of the bayou and infuses it with a healthy dose of Cajun spice. The country-laced rock & roll of "Why Are People Like That" features some stinging guitar picking, while his vocals on the Little Feat-influenced "Can't Do One More Two Step" compare favorably with those of that band's fabled guitarist and singer, Lowell George.
