I was very much impressed with this recording by Karajan. The orchestra sound on these two CDs is fantastic. I love the power in the first and last movements of the 1st Symphony. The 2nd Symphony is beautiful in its first three movements and powerful in its last movement. The 3rd Symphony has a magnificent 1st movement. Karajan does not observe any repeats of the exposition in these symphonies. If that bothers you, this set is not for you if not, this is definitely a great buy!
