During the mid-12th century, an encyclopedic text by the Arabic writer Abu Bakr al-Razi, the "Sirr al-æasrar," became influential in Western thought through a popular Latin translation entitled "Secretum secretorum" (Secret of the Secrets). Deepak Chopra's THE BOOK OF SECRETS, to be clear, is not an English translation of the "Secretum," but rather a remarkably concise and convincing argument in favor of the Buddhist concept that our being is inseparable from all existence.
