This double feature pairs the BOOGIEPOP PHANTOM TV SERIES with BOOGIEPOP AND OTHERS LIVE-ACTION MOVIE.

An ambitious series that bears a striking resemblance to LAIN, BOOGIEPOP PHANTOM is no less fascinating, and certainly, in many ways, takes that series' concept to another level. Taking place in a bizarre alternate universe, Boogiepop is a shady organization that protects the world from supernatural menace that materializes in the form of a young girl clad in a yin-yang cloak. The series begins with the disappearance of some high school students, the discovery of a young man who sees people's regrets as spiders and can eat them, and the appearance of a detective who tries to tie the strands of these mysteries together. All 13 episodes from the series are included here.

BOOGIEPOP AND OTHERS is a live-action prequel to the aforementioned time bending horror anime series. Directed by Ryu Kaneda (VIDEO GIRL AI) with design work by Sadayuki Murai (PERFECT BLUE), this prequel offers a satisfying dramatization of those previous events--including a rash of unsolved serial murders, a simultaneous beam of light that hovers over the city, and a cloaked young woman who may or may not be the angel of death--for an innovative and atmospheric horror film that oozes supernatural menace.
