Four decades into his career, folkie Eric Andersen's first-ever live album is both a solid overview of his stellar career as a songwriter and a tribute to the folk and blues songs that inspired him. Fred Neil's "The Other Side of This Life," Ray Charles's "Losing Hand," and a song Andersen co-wrote with Lou Reed, "You Can't Relive the Past," are all among the highlights. Recorded in a Norwegian blues club backed by an electric band of local musicians, BLUE RAIN features Eric Andersen at his most assertive and passionate.
