A sort-of greatest hits package focusing on '70s work, and as such not the definitive Loretta Lynn collection--with only 10 tracks, how could it be? Nevertheless, BLUE-EYED KENTUCKY GIRL isn't a bad introduction to one of country's all-time greats.
Along with signature songs ("Coal Miner's Daughter," "The Pill," the anthemic "You're Lookin' at Country"), there's also her self-penned, and very funny, don't-dress-like-a-slut rant "Rated X" and the genuinely touching "The Home You're Tearing Down." Not the whole story, obviously, but worth a listen anyway.
