Title Note

Not released terribly long after Bhangra: Original Punjabi Pop, this album covers much of the same territory. Bouncing, dancefloor-friendly beats are abundant, along with poppy keyboard riffs and some nice vocals throughout. The call-and-response element is, as always, omnipresent and used to good effect. Compared to other similar releases (including those on the same label), this album is essentially standard. These aren't the big names of bhangra really, but they are capable performers. The orchestrations are interesting, if sometimes rather simplistic. Then again, good dance music doesn't need complexity -- it needs a good rhythm and some upbeat tendencies. This has that in spades. ~ Adam Greenberg
