Tenor sax player Von Freeman, a keystone of the "Chicago School," has had a long and storied career, but his recorded output has not been prolific, and what has been released is not always easy to find on CD. This comprehensive box set takes care of at least his post-millennial offerings for Premonition Records. It includes two audio CDs with bonus tracks of unreleased material, as well as a DVD with tons of unreleased video footage of the tenor legend.
