2008 was a blockbuster year for DVD releases, with super heroes and evil villains propelling movies to the top of the charts. Our favorite DVDs of the year include Chris Nolan's incredible The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger's final performance led an all-star cast in the biggest theatrical release that we have seen in decades.

 

2008 also served as a testing ground for quirky, independent and thought-provoking films. From [Lars And The Real Girl[ to last year's award-winner, [Juno[, our DVD collections expanded along with our tastes. Knock-out new television shows like [Mad Men: Season One[ arrived in stylish packaging. Forgotten TV gems, like Britain's [Spaced: The Complete Series[, made us wish we had tuned in earlier.

It was a battle of the brawns for top spot in 2008's video bestsellers, as some of comicbooks' most legendary characters came to life on the big screen! The prize went to the highly anticipated Iron Man, featuring the amazing Robert Downey Jr..

 

As a whole, the year 2008 offered something for every home viewer. Customers looking for laughs turned to the gang at Dunder Mifflin and took home the fourth season of The Office. Those in a more serious mood opted for cinematic education from HBO's John Adams and the compelling Western, 3:10 To Yuma. Those interested in a hilarious out-of-body experience caught up with the newest DVD release from Jeff Dunham!
