This double CD best-of collects some of the most popular songs of the O'Jays, one of the best-known bands brought to fame by the storied early-1970s Philadelphia Sound. The vocal trio found its natural home in the sophisticated arrangements and dance-friendly beats of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff's Sigma Sound studios, and its recordings of such '70s R&B classics as "Love Train," "Backstabbers," and "For the Love of Money" rank among the genre's best. Also included here are lesser known but equally high-quality songs such as "Listen to the Clock on the Wall," a classic R&B cheating song, and the epic "You Got Your Hooks in Me," with its timeless vocal harmonies and classy pop production.
