Since The Best of the Motels, released in 2003, contains the Motels' biggest hits -- "Only the Lonely" and "Suddenly Last Summer" -- it is all that the average casual fan of the band will want, but it is only a ten-track budget compilation that has neither the breadth nor the presentation of 2005's Essential Collection. In fact, nearly every other Motels compilation (including 2002's Classic Masters and 1990's No Vacancy: The Best of the Motels) has this one beat in terms of value. The charting singles "Little Robbers" and "Forever Mine" are not included here, so the compilers made some poor choices. ~ Andy Kellman
