The only single-disc compilation to span the whole of Haggard's career (encompassing all of his many label changes), HAG contains the lion's share of the country legend's greatest hits, including "Branded Man," "Mama Tried," and "Okie from Muskogee," alongside duets with Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. Haggard's voice and picking come through like reliable old friends, but it is his spectacular songwriting that really shines. The 2006 reissue features beautifully remastered sound.
