Following the demise of the all-girl jailbait glam-punk outfit the Runaways, Lita Ford launched a successful solo career as one of the few women in the male-dominated world of heavy metal. The singer and guitarist released numerous albums over her multi-decade career, scoring her biggest hits in the late 1980s with the triumphant glam-metal anthem "Kiss Me Deadly" and her duet with Ozzy Osbourne, "Close My Eyes Forever." She was devoting herself fully to motherhood by the 1990s, though she continued to perform and record sporadically.
