Welsh band the Blackout play a varied brand of hard modern rock on its 2009 Eptaph debut THE BEST IN TOWN. Like any self-respecting screamo band, they employ a pair of vocalists trading melodies and screams and a barrage of guitar blasts, but their songs run the gamut from the Jimmy Eat World-esque ballad "Top of the World" and the Jawbreaker-meets-Earth Crisis heavy "The Fire," to singles like "Save Our Selves" and "Children of the Night" which bask in hair metal hooks as if they were Motley Crue or Warrant.
