Title Note

Best of His Rare Solo Classics is a bit of a misleading title for this ten-track budget-priced collection. There isn't much that's rare on this collection; everything has been released before. However, these songs didn't become hits -- the first side is filled with Monument recordings, the second with rockabilly Sun sessions like "Ooby Dooby," "Rock House" and "Devil Doll." The result has some good moments, but it's too uneven to be a worthwhile purchase for even a semi-serious Orbison fan. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
