Originally issued in 2004, the Sleeping's debut, BELIEVE WHAT WE TELL YOU, offers up a lively set of the Long Island, New York-based group's metal-tinged emo songs. While frontman Douglas Robinson's singing is appropriately expressive and angst-ridden, he carefully sidesteps vocal histrionics, allowing for more focus on guitarist Cameron Keym's deft, dynamic fretwork, particularly on the blazing title track, which features a wonderfully dreamy mid-song interlude.
