Review

Mojo (Publisher) (p.124) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "His music is giddy-sounding and gossamer-like, yet each song, while delicate, has enough substance to become etched on your heart."
Mojo (Publisher) (8/00, p.122) - "...One of the most inventive [albums] of the '60s....Multi-layered vocals and percussive sounds woven into a remarkable whole."

Title Note

The Millennium includes: Curt Boettcher, Lee Mallory (vocals); Sandy Salisbury (vocals, guitar); Joey Stec (guitar).

Personnel: Curt Boettcher, Keith Olsen (recorder).

Many artists have sold more albums since their demise than they did while they were together. To the ranks of Big Star and the Velvet Underground, add the Millennium, psychedelic LA obscuros whose lone album found a new life in the digital age. They were the brainchild of Curt Boettcher, who produced the Association classics 'Along Comes Mary' and 'Cherish'. With future superstar producer Keith Olsen at his side and a cast of wildly creative performers (including future Crabby Appleton leader Michael Fennelly), Boettcher created a harmony-laden masterpiece of transcendent, sparkling pop music, often compared to the Beach Boys' Smile and Van Dyke Parks' Song Cycle. Avant garde, yet accessible, it was the second album ever recorded with 16-track technology.
