Beethoven chose to introduce himself to the music world with his first three Trios, which he published as his Op. 1, despite Haydn's advice that some of the music was too radical for the public to accept. These works are in no way immature. They show the young composer fully formed, perhaps not the profound creator of the late Quartets but already writing great music.
