These performances are good on the whole. The Fifth Symphony is done very well, but Karajan leaves out a repeat in the Scherzo. The Sixth Symphony is maybe a little bit too fast for my taste. Basically, the interpretations are good. My only problem is the sound quality. The sound is probably good for the age of the recording (mid 1950s), but it is certainly not top quality. It is not a big problem, but that is what gave it the four stars. If you dont mind the sound being less than perfect, this is a fine set to get.
