Formed in 1975 by fiddle player Michael Doucet, New Orleans band BeauSoleil have dedicated themselves to preserving native southern Louisiana culture through the French-inspired melodies of traditional Cajun music. The highly influential band is captured live in this concert recorded at the 2002 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, performing both original material and Cajun standards such as "Happy One Step," "Recherche d'Acadie," "Grand Mamou," "La Terre de Mon Grandpere," and more.
