Singer-songwriter Ezra Furman debuts with the alternative folk-rock of BANGING DOWN THE DOORS, a quirky blend of Beirut's worldly folk explorations, Sufjan Stevens's elaborate lyrical conceits, and the rough-edged, polyglot sound of the Arcade Fire. Blending crisp folk-rock tunes, evenly balanced between electric and acoustic instruments, with Furman's engagingly artless voice, quirky lyrics, and shaggy-dog demeanor, he creates an appealingly off-kilter form of alternative folk.
