Album Description

Bandoneon Sinfonico documents a concert Astor Piazzolla gave in July of 1990, where the the godfather of tango gave a standard performance of his repertoire and was supported by the Athens Colours Orchestra and conductor Manos Hidjidakis. What makes the concert notable is that it happened to be the last concert Piazzolla ever gave, so it is a special release for diehard fans and even casual listeners will be surprised by how vital Piazzolla sounds toward the end of his career. ~ Thom Owens
