Review

Entertainment Weekly (12/11/98, p.80) - "...Moving between urban anthems from the Lox, Faith Evans, pint-size protege Jerome, and his own solo hits, this compilation clarifies Puffy's key innovation: dance-floor pleasers that tread the line between street cred and pop crossover while satisfying both camps..."- Rating: A-

Title Note

Producers include: Deric "D-Dot" Angelettie, Sean "Puffy" Combs, Easy Mo Bee, Chucky Thompson, Carlos Broady & Nashiem Myrick.

Engineers include: Rich Travali, "Prince Charles" Alexander, Doug Wilson.

It usually takes an artist or group more than a decade to amass a string of hits suitable for a greatest hits album. In just a few short years, artist/producer/label CEO Sean "Puffy" Combs has had a well-documented climb to the top of the charts. With BAD BOY'S GREATEST HITS VOL.1, Puffy puts together numerous artists from the Bad Boy Records roster, creating a seriously hit-stuffed package. Nothing is missing from this album, which includes tracks from the late Notorious B.I.G. ("One More Chance/Stay With Me"), Mase ("Feels So Good") and Faith Evans ("You Used To Love Me").

"Can't Nobody Hold Me Down (featuring Mase)" and "It's All About The Benjamins" (featuring The Notorious B.I.G., Lil' Kim & The Lox) have Puff rhyming with his family. Numerous tracks are laced with guest appearances from rappers including DMX, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes and members of the Bad Boy crew. Arguably one of the best greatest hits albums ever put together.
