The Stax record label is legendary for releasing albums by the most significant and influential soul musicians of the late 1960's. Founded in the capital of soul music, Memphis, Tennessee, in 1959, Stax Records went on to record classics by such legends as Sam Moore, Carla Thomas, and Eddie Floyd. BACK TO STAX is a collection of live performances from the best of these artists. Along with the aforementioned, Phil Upchurch, Memphis Horns, and Booker T and the MG's are also featured at their spirited best.
