Brooklyn, New York, indie rockers Blood on the Wall made a splash with their 2004 self-titled debut. Their follow-up, AWESOMER, displays even more energy and variety than its predecessor. Led by the brother-and-sister songwriting team Courtney and Brad Shanks (the contrast of their voices is one of the band's most distinctive features), the edgy trio make brash, quirky music that mixes equal parts post-punk tension, pop hooks, and hip-shaking danceability. AWESOMER is a take-notice warning from a young rock band to watch.
