Compared to its predecessor in the Authorized Bootleg series (the 11/04/75 set), LIVE AT WINTERLAND SAN FRANCISO 3/07/76 is tougher and harder. J.J. Cale's "I Got the Same Old Blues" is pure nasty funk, while "Tuesday's Gone" adds a hint of anger to the song's inherent melancholy. Even "Sweet Home Alabama" is particularly energetic and celebratory, and, along with a rousing version of "Freebird," tops off a concert that drips with rock edge and Southern pride.

4 out of 5 stars Poorly Recorded But The Band Puts On A Good Performance., April 18, 2009
By MetalHead
Recorded in 1976 in San Francisco at Winterland, the guys put on a good performance but this recording sounds like it was recorded in mono. The sound is pretty flat. I also bought the other cd recorded in 19765 in Cardiff, Wales which is far superior to this one. And that performance is red hot with fantastic guitar solos by both Alan Collins and Gary Rossington. And its recorded in stereo. Only die hard Skynyrd fans will want the Winterland concert. Both of these cds are from the concert archives (of late Bill Grahams) website, Wolfgangs Vault.
