Annotation

The Aspects of Shakespeare set draws together articles from the 'Shakespeare Survey' on Macbeth, Othello, Hamlet, King Lear and the 'problem plays' - All's Well that Ends Well, Measure for Measure and Troilus and Cressida. The volumes were first published between 1977 and 1982 but are brought together as a set for the first time here. In making their selections from the entire range of 'Shakespeare Survey' available at the time, the editors were able to include articles of interest for the general reader as well as the needs of teachers and students. In each volume, the plate sections include both the articles' original illustrations and material chosen for the 'Aspects' volume. There are also specially written prefaces by the editors.
