The duduk is an instrument of the flute family, whose sound is reminiscent of the Japanese shakuhachi: round, reedy edges and wisps between notes. Although the light percussion of the dool joins in for six of the tunes, most of the music is duduk, often accompanied by a second duduk that serves as a bass drone. Overall, the sound is very lovely, although there is little variety.
