On their 1999 debut, ARE YOU GREEN?, the Sights stake out sonic territory that is two parts 1960s garage and one part Britpop--the combination no-doubt owing to their home city Detroit, and the album's late-1990s vintage. ARE YOU GREEN? more strongly recalls contemporaries Supergrass than the Nuggets-era music the Sights want you to think they love, but that's nothing to be ashamed of. Like Supergrass, the Sights back up their sneer with good songs and big-time chops.
