Title Note

Issued in the U.S. on the Sub Pop label during spring 2008, ANTIDOTES finds the Oxford, England-based dance-punk outfit Foals kicking like its namesake. Although the album is the U.K. band's debut, it sounds like the work of a more seasoned act, with the ensemble's technical skill echoing math-rock heroes Battles, while most blatantly nodding to the Rapture, particularly in the strained yelp of frontman Yannis Philippakis (see the staccato-spiked "Cassius").
