Album Description

Angels of the Apocalypse is prog-metal outfit Mastermind's seventh album overall, but it's the first to achieve widespread domestic release in the U.S. It's also one of their strongest musical efforts, augmented by seasoned prog-metal keyboardist Jens Johansson (formerly of Yngwie Malmsteen's band, as well as Dio and Stratovarius). The band's technical ability stands at such a high level that it sometimes threatens to overpower their compositions, but strong melodies always bring them back to earth. ~ Steve Huey
