Entertainment Weekly (5/16/97, p.117) - "...Their goofy formula of lyrics inspired by bad horror movies, poppy vocals, and blasting hardcore is still excellent mosh-pit fodder, and new frontman Michale Graves is a dead ringer for Glenn Danzig before he found his fortune as a heavy metal crooner."

The Misfits includes: Michael Graves (vocals); Doyle (guitar); Jerry Only (bass); Dr. Chud (drums).

Although the authenticity of the Misfits without the distinctive Elvis-in-Hell vocal operatics of founding father Glenn Danzig is somewhat doubtful, AMERICAN PSYCHO is a worthy successor to the band's legacy. New vocalist Michael Graves manages a fair evocation of Danzig's bellow, and the traditional backing vocals are still in place, courtesy of Jerry and Doyle.

Most importantly, the songwriting manages to evoke the classic Misfits sound without getting derivative. "Crimson Ghost," "Mars Attacks," and the title track wouldn't have sounded out of place on EARTH A.D., and "Walk Among Us" evokes that classic album without sullying its memory. The guitars are a little meatier and a little more metallic, but the feel of the Misfits is here. Until a real reunion, this will do nicely.
